Hi, my name is Luck.
I´m going to tell you about the Sierra Nevada Natural Park.
It is situated in the Penibético System in the south
of Spain in the village of Monachil, 32 kilometres from Granada.
The flora of Sierra Nevada is very rich and
varied. According to the Ministry of Environment of Spain, there are 66 endemic
vascular plant species, representing the highest biodiversity in the Iberian
Peninsula and one of the largest in Europe. The total number of higher plants
is around 2,100, representing a quarter of all known species in Spain and fifth
in Europe.
The queen of wildlife in Sierra Nevada is
the Spanisk ibex Capra pyrenaica). There are also species of small birds, a
number of raptors and more than 20 species of butterflies.
Sierra
Nevada was declared a National Park in 1999 because of its flora and fauna,
including many species and many others endemic species.
I invite you
to visit Sierra Nevada. It’s a great place!
