2C Sierra Nevada National Park -12


Hi! My name is Tiger233.
I´m going to tell you about the Sierra Montana Nevada Natural Park.
Sierra Nevada is in Granada, in the south of Spain.
Sierra Nevada is a Mountain Range. It´s the second largest range of Spain.
There´s a lot of snow because Sierra Nevada is 3.000 meters about sea level. In Sierra Nevada there is the “Mulhacen”, the highest peak in Spain.
Sierra Nevada´s flora is varied, at the Cerro Del Trevente´s foot, there is the Botanic Garden of La Cortijuela. There are many species of flowers like the Erysium Nevadiense. It is a very unusual flower.
In Sierra Nevada there are many species of animals like the Eagle Carriageway, the Royal Whistle or the Royal Eagle that it is endangered.
Sierra Nevada was named Natural Park in 1999.


2C Tablas de Daimiel National Park 16

I´m going to tell you about the Tablas de Daimiel Natural 

Park.


It is located in the Road from Daimiel to Molemocho in Ciudad Real in Spain.




The main  Mountains are Montes de Toledo 
made by limestone.
And in this natural park are different 
types of rivers Tablazo River, Guadiana River, 
Cannal of the  Cigüela River.
In In the flora of this natural park we can find many different types of trees. Some names of them are Taray, Salicaria, Masiega, Enea, Encina, Carrizo, Calaminon, White Poplar.
In the fauna we can find different kind of animals:
Fox, Shoveled, Great Crested Grebe, Coloured Duck,
Buterfly Pandoriana, Ocellated lizard, Otter,
Kingfisher, Heron, Common Coot, Stilts,
Warblerand Marsh Harrier
This park is  beautiful and  I would like 
to recommend  you to visit it.



2B Sierra Nevada Nationjal Park 8

I­´m going to tell you about the Sierra Nevada Natural Park.
It is situated in the Penibético System in the south of Spain in the village of Monachil, 32 kilometres from Granada.
The flora of Sierra Nevada is very rich and varied. According to the Ministry of Environment of Spain, there are 66 endemic vascular plant species, representing the highest biodiversity in the Iberian Peninsula and one of the largest in Europe. The total number of higher plants is around 2,100, representing a quarter of all known species in Spain and fifth in Europe.
The queen of wildlife in Sierra Nevada is the Spanisk ibex Capra pyrenaica). There are also species of small birds, a number of raptors and more than 20 species of butterflies.
Sierra Nevada was declared a National Park in 1999 because of its flora and fauna, including many species and many others endemic species.
I invite you to visit Sierra Nevada. It’s a great place!



2B Athlantic Islands National Park -3

I’ am going to tell you about The Atlantic Islands ofGalicia Natural Park.
The Atlantic Islands of Galicia National Park is the only national park located in the Autonomous Community of Galicia in Spain. It takes the archipelagos of Cíes, Ons, Sálvora and Cortegada up. The park covers a land area of 1,200 ha and a sea area of 7,200 ha.
This sea-land ecosystem has a laurel forest and over 200 species of seaweed. It also stands out for its shellfish, corals and anemones. As for wildlife, one can see seagulls, shags, razorbills, guillemots and dolphins.
The islands were occupied by various monastic orders during the Middle Ages.  They owned to the Church. They were gauged by nobles of the time and attacked by invaders who used them as a base for raids on the coast. In 1980 the Cies Islands were declared  Natural Park.

2B Monfragüe National Park -4

I’m going to tell you about The Monfragüe Natural Park.
Monfragüe is located in the center of the province of Caceres, between that forms the famous cities of Plasencia, Trujillo and Caceres.
Monfragüe, with 18.396 hectares, was the first protected area of Extremadura. This Natural Park on 4th, April in 1979 became the first place with plants eucalypts.
In July 2003, it was recognited as Biosphere Reserve for the great lands in the Natural Park.
In Monfragüe there are different ecosystems with different fauna and flora’s characteristics. There are Mediterranean Forest Landscapes. This is one of the last ecosystems in Europe.
There is Mediterranean fauna with more than 200 species of vertebrates animals and there are more in the winter.
This is a spectacular Natural Park. I would like you went there. I’m sure that you would enjoy a lot.





2B Picos de Europa National Park -1

Hi, my name is Solna.
I’m going to tell you about The Peaks Europe Natural Park.
The Peaks Europe is a mountain range located in northern of Spain that belongs to the central part of the Cantabrian Mountains.
It is located by Cantabria, Castilla  León and Asturias Autonomus Communities. They occupy a total area of 67,455 hectares in the three provinces.
There are over 2000 documented plant species that inhabit the park. Here abounds the Atlantic forest, lush, full of oak, beech, ash, chestnut, oak, holly...
In the animal’s wildlife in the National Park Peaks Europe abounds  the golden eagle, osprey, vultures and owls.
Today the National Park Peaks Europe is the second most visited in Spain, after the National Park of Teide National Park in Tenerife.
It's a beautiful place! I recommend you visit!

I’m going to tell you about the “Caldera deTaburiente” Natural Park

The Caldera de Taburiente Natural Park is a protected area of Spain. It is located on the island of La Palma,  in the Canary Islands in Spain. Like the rest of the archipielago 
is of a volcanic nature.

The Caldera of Taburiente is an immense depression the world’s largest of its kind.

The Canary Island pine is the species that dominates and shapes the landscape.

Most of the park’s wildlife is representated by arthropods, mainly insects.

Come to the Caldera de Taburiente Natural Park and enjoy with your visit!

2A Teide National Park -4

                             Hi , my name is Sond.                                                                                           
I´m going to tell you about Teide NaturalPark.
Teide is a volcano located on the island of Tenerife (Canary Islands in the South West of Spain) .Its altitude is 3718 meters above sea level and with  7500 meters is the highest peak in Spain. Its altitude makes Tenerife to be the tenth highest island in the world.
Teide is also part of the Teide National Park.
 

      The Flora in Teide is centered in the boiler Glens
The most common flower in Teide is the flower called Viola cheiranthifoli.Viola cheiranthifolia is a small perennial plant that grows between the rocks of Mount Teide in Tenerife. This plant has an oval shape, and very  hairy leaves.                                                        
In the Fauna there are mammals, bats .The most prominent is the Canary big-eared bat.
There are also reptiles. The most prominent is the blight lizard Gallotiagalloti.                                                            

Teide is beautiful and I invite you to go to Tenerife because it's a nice volcanic island and you must climb Teide.


2A Sierra de Guadarrama National Park -5

I’m going to tell you about the Sierra de Guadarrama Natural Park.
It’s located between Gredos and Ayllon mountain ranges. It extends from southwest to northeast and it occupies  the Spanish provinces of Madrid, Segovia, and Avila.
This mountain is about 80 km long and its highest peak is Peñalara at 2,428 metres.
The flora of this mountain is characterized by the abundance of pine forests and the presence of Pyrenean oak groves and oaks in lower areas.
Their fauna is composed by the wild boar, roe deer, badgers, weasels several wildcats, foxes and hares. There are a lot of species of waterfowl in the reservoirs, and large prey such as the imperial eagle and the black vulture.

and I am going to tell you about Cabañeros  Natural Park.
This park is in Montes de Toledo in Castilla-La Mancha 
in Spain.
It has got an area of 390 squared kilometers. It lies between the Estena and Bullaque rivers, extending into the Chorito and Miraflores mountain ranges.
This park has got Mediterranean forests with an enormous variety of plants and many
 animals species live there.

It was designated Natural Park in 1995.
I invite you to go to this great park!






2A Caldera de Taburiente Nationl Park -9

I´m going to tell you about The Caldera de Taburiente Natural Park.
It´s situated in the Canary Islands.
It has got a very big mountain.
In the Flora the spice that dominates and shapes the landscape is the Canary Island pine. We also can find other jaras where grows the batatilla or vaquita, a practically buried parasitic plant. Inside the gullies where moisture is more abundant forest residues found like the acebiño (Ilex canariensis), parrot or laurel (Laurus azorica) barbusano (Apollonias canariensis), Madeira mahogany (Persea indica) or marmolán.
Most of the park's Wildlife is represented by arthropods, mainly insects. There are a lot of centipedes, reaching a size of nearly a foot in length, and the wolf spider. At an altitude of 2000 m there is a cave where an endemic cave beetle Palma, has the peculiarity that has lost eyes and pigmentation lives.
The vertebrate F
auna is scarce and most are introduced species except bats, some amphibians and reptiles.
The main mammals are the Barbary sheep, goats, rabbits, which are a serious threat to native plants, some feral cats and four species of bats as the tailed bat (European free-tailed bat).
We can find a lot of birds as the kestrel (Falco tinnunculus canariensis), the rock dove (Columba livia canariensis), the laurel pigeon (Columba junionae), the farm or chough (Graja), the raven (Corvus corax tingitanus), blackbird ( Turdus merula agnetae), titmice (Parus caeruleus palmensis) or the blackcap (Sylvia atricapilla atricapilla).

Among the amphibians we can find the southern frog (Hyla meridionalis).

There are also reptiles as the Canary Island wall gecko gecko of Delalande or (d Tarentola delalandii.) Or lizard (Gallotia galloti palmae).





2A Timanfaya National Park -10

I´m going to tell you about The Timanfaya Natural Park.
It was declared a National Park on August 9th in 1974. It is the third protected area of the Canary Islands to hold the designation of National Park and the first and only of the whole Province of Las Palmas.

It occupies an area of 51,07km² in the southwest of the island. It is a volcanic park. The last eruptions occurred in 1824. It has more than 25 volcanoes, such as the Fire Mountains, Cracked Mountain or Corazoncillo Caldera. It  has 
still got volcanic activity. There are hot spots on the surface reaching 600ºC 100º-120ºC and 13 meters deep.

This volcanic habitat is in the early stages of ecological succession (in total there are about 180 different plant species) It is an excellent place to study the processes of colonization and succession.

    I’m going to tell you about The Athlantic Islands of Galicia Natural Park.
It is located in Galicia (Spain).

Its main geographical features are mountains and it is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean.

It´s known for having molluscs, corals, and anemones. There is vegetation that is only found there.

It is very important its wildlife. You can see there seagulls, cormorants, razorbills, and dolphins.

I think it is a good place for a holiday!



2A Garajonay National Park 12

I’m going to tell you about The Garajonay Natural Park.
It’s in La Gomera, in the Canary Island in Spain.
There are important mountains like The Roque de Agandos as we can see one of that stranges mountains on the photo. There are waterfalls and rivers too.
In this Park there are about 2000 different types of flora and many types of forests. It has got about 4000 hectares of forests.
You can see there amphibians, birds and reptiles. Some types of them are the unique spices in Spain.
It was considered UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986.

It is situated in the center of the province of Cáceres.
There are three main habitats: the forest, the rocks and rivers and reservoirs.
The park has over 200 species of different animals. There are birds, mammals, fish, reptiles and amphibians.
There are many types of flora such as rocky areas, riparian zones and thermal zones.
Come here you will have a great time.

2A Tablas de Daimiel National Park -14


Hi! My name is Sand. I´m going to tell you about the Tablas 
It is situated in south-center of  Spain in the  
Mancha plain in the province of Ciudad Real.
The rivers Guadiana and Gigüela go through them.
The fresh water of the Guadiana favors the growth of the 
Common Reed (Phragmites australis, Phragmites 
communis), and the briny water of the Gigüela favors the 
growth of the marshy vegetation.
The migratory fauna is made by Purple Heron, Grey Heron, 
Little Egret,Black-crowned Night Heron, etc.
The Tablas de Daimiel has two types of water. They make an unusual ecosystem. The Guadiana River contributes fresh water, but its tributary, the Gigüela River, gives it salty water.
It´s a fantastic National Park come to see it.

Hi, I’m The Joker and I’m going to tell you about Gúdar-Javalambre County.
Gúdar-Javalambre is in the Iberian System in the mountain range of Gúdar. It’s in the province of Teruel, in the region of Aragón, in Spain.
There are mountain ranges, valleys, plains, hills…
You can find pine and fir forests, shrubberies, lots of different types of mushrooms, and pinecones.
There are deer, boars, hares, rabbits, squirrels, snakes, goats and a lot of different animals. 
Gúdar-Javalambre has got lots of ski resorts and lots of beautiful places to visit.

2A La Albufera de Valencia 19

I’m going to tell you about the  Albufera of Valencia.
It is located ten kilometers from the city of Valencia in Spain.
It is divided into four regions. They are Tall  Bank, Low Bank , South Orchard , and the city of Valencia. 
Most of the area is occupied by rice crops. The dune vegetation sits on sandy substrates, such as dune grass or bell sea dunes pioneer species. 
There are ecologically valuable species of animals in 
danger of extinction, as the samaruc. 
Come and visit the national park of the Albufera de 
Valencia. It is the  largest lake in Spain!

2B Ordesa and Monteperdido National Park 14


Hi, my name is Anbel13.
I´m going to tell you about The Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park.
Ordesa and Monte perdido Park is located in the Pyrenees of Huesca in Aragón. It´s a protected area since 1918.
The park is formed by territories of Fanlo, Bielsa, Puértolas, Torla, Tella-Sin and Broto. The whole extension is 156’08 squared kilometres.
At the low part there are extensive forests and at higher parts there are only pines.
There are important species such as: goats, marmots and some birds. But in January 2000 the bucardo became extinct.
I hope that you have learned something about this park.

Hi! We are the ABC Crocodiles again!
This year we have an American Teacher Assistant
She is teaching a lot of things about her country:

We have worked Food from different regions in pairs.
Each person has created its own Restaurant.
On the left part of the Menu we have written the name of the 
American Region, a picture about the Menu and
a slogan to invite people to come to our restaurant.
On the right part of the carboard,
we have shown our Menus.
We have offered three Starters, 2 Main Courses,
 2 Desserts and 2 Drinks.
We have written the price in dollars 
and if the taxes were included or not.
We have also made oral dialogues with them.
We have learnt a lot. We hope you enjoy our work.
