It’s located between Gredos and Ayllon mountain ranges. It extends from southwest to northeast and it occupies  the Spanish provinces of Madrid, Segovia, and Avila.
This mountain is about 80 km long and its highest peak is Peñalara at 2,428 metres.
The flora of this mountain is characterized by the abundance of pine forests and the presence of Pyrenean oak groves and oaks in lower areas.
Their fauna is composed by the wild boar, roe deer, badgers, weasels several wildcats, foxes and hares. There are a lot of species of waterfowl in the reservoirs, and large prey such as the imperial eagle and the black vulture.
